Internal Revenue Service (253.....1) $ (enter amount here)

Friday, September 26, 2008 12:49 PM
From: "Internal Revenue Service" Add sender to Contacts To: undisclosed-recipients

An email is sent to you from the Internal Revenue Service regarding a tax refund. Check the from line and you'll see that it is sent from an individual... not from a gov.com website or address. Also, this is sent to "undisclosed-recipients", indicating mass mailing. Funny how the IRS would send the same file number and tax refund amount to countless recipients all at the same time. This is an obvious fraud.

Online Banking Scams follow the same format. Banks will never ask you to "Verify" your account via e-mail. Ever.
